Design and Evaluation of Parallel Applications Using a Structured Parallel Language

چکیده
Structured parallel programming is one of the possible solutions to exploit Pro-grammability, Portability and Performance in the parallel programming world. Programming using high level parallel constructs permits the programmer to focus on the development of the parallel algorithms rather than on their low level implementation. The power of this approach stands in the possibility of modeling the performance of the high level constructs and building optimizing template-based compilers. These compilers use formulas describing the performance of language constructs over the target architectures and tune their parametric implementation to achieve high performance gures. In this paper, we describe a set of applications developed using such a programming methodology and show the results obtained. Parleda: a Library for Parallel Processing in Computational Geometry Applications
ParLeda is a software library that provides the basic primitives needed for parallel implementation of computational geometry applications. It can also be used in implementing a parallel application that uses geometric data structures. The parallel model that we use is based on a new heterogeneous parallel model named HBSP, which is based on BSP and is introduced here. ParLeda uses two main lib...
متن کاملUltra-Low-Energy DSP Processor Design for Many-Core Parallel Applications
Background and Objectives: Digital signal processors are widely used in energy constrained applications in which battery lifetime is a critical concern. Accordingly, designing ultra-low-energy processors is a major concern. In this work and in the first step, we propose a sub-threshold DSP processor. Methods: As our baseline architecture, we use a modified version of an existing ultra-low-power...
متن کاملNon radial model of dynamic DEA with the parallel network structure
In this article, Non radial method of dynamic DEA with the parallel network structure is presented and is used for calculation of relative efficiency measures when inputs and outputs do not change equally. In this model, DMU divisions under evaluation have been put together in parallel. But its dynamic structure is assumed in series. Since in real applications there are undesirable inputs an...
متن کاملDesign and Kinematic Analysis of a 4-DOF Serial-Parallel Manipulator for a Driving Simulator
This paper presents the kinematic analysis and the development of a 4-degree-of-freedom serial-parallel mechanism for large commercial vehicle driving simulators. The degrees of freedom are selected according to the target maneuvers and the structure of human motion perception organs. Several kinematic properties of parallel part of the mechanism under study are investigated, including the inve...
متن کاملEvaluation of scheduling solutions in parallel processing using DEA FDH model
This paper gives a new application of DEA to evaluate the scheduling solutions of parallel processing. It evaluates the scheduling solutions of parallel processing using the non-convex DEA model, FDH model. By introducing each solution of parallel processing scheduling as a DMU with some relevant inputs and outputs this paper shows that how the most efficient schedule(s) can be identified.
